Columbia's Jonathan Byrd and Bishopville native Tommy "Two Gloves" Gainey have been spending time on the Tour in an effort to one day, regain their PGA Tour card.

But both men received a sponsor's exemption to The Greenbrier Classic and they are making the most of it.

"Two Gloves" shot a 2-under 68 Friday after an even par round on Thursday to make the cut. This is the second PGA Tour event in 2017 for Gainey who missed the cut at the RBC Heritage on Hilton Head Island back in April.

After a 1-under 69 on Thursday, Byrd was even par for his second round and he makes the cut on the number at minus-1. The Spring Valley and Clemson product finished tied for 76th earlier this year in the Puerto Rico Open, his only Tour start for 2017.

Another Clemson product, Greenwood's Ben Martin, is currently tied for second at nine-under par, three shots behind leader Sebastian Munoz.

Former Gamecock Mark Anderson from Beaufort is at minus-4 after back-to-back 68s.

Live coverage of The Greenbrier Classic is set for 3:00 pm Saturday and Sunday on News19.
