"Pen to paper. @Sin_City_803 is officially a Clipper!"

The LA Clippers posted that message along with a photo of Thornwell at 4:52 p.m. Wednesday.

And just like that, the Lancaster native and second round NBA draft pick is officially a clipper.

Thornwell was a second-round selection in last month's NBA Draft by the Milwaukee Bucks who after taking him with the 48th overall selection, immediately traded him to the Clippers

With a camp on the schedule and Clippers training coming up in the fall Thornwell is realizing that his life is different now that he's in the NBA.

In Myrtle Beach on Tuesday, Thornwell said "The most challenging part is not even the basketball court. It's just the off the court stuff. Just realizing I can't do regular stuff. I can't go out and about and think it's going to be normal anymore. Everybody knows everything now so that's the real hard part for me," Thornwell said.

But at the end of the day there's nothing like South Carolina to help keep him grounded.

"When I come back home everyone stops me and congratulates me and everybody's been so supportive."
