An undrafted linebacker out of USC is getting his chance to impress an NFL franchise during training camp. Former Gamecock linebacker Jonathan Walton reached a deal with the New Orleans Saints on Monday.
The Daphne, Alabama native finished with 22 starts in 50 games. He totaled 179 tackles, 11.5 tackles for loss and three forced fumbles during his USC career. Walton had a career high 10 starts, 68 tackles and 6.5 tackles for loss in his final year as a Gamecock last season.

Walton will be replacing a rookie linebacker in New Orleans who suffered an injury during camp. So hopefully this will be a chance for Walton to make the team or practice squad.
The Saints camp wraps up on August 7th and their first preseason game is at Cleveland on August 10th.
