South Carolina was already getting a stud player in Fort Dorchester quarterback Dakereon Joyner but now they are getting the top player in South Carolina.
Today in Myrtle Beach at the Touchstone Energy Cooperatives North South All-Star Bowl Joyner was named Mr. Football of South Carolina. This is the first time since 2011 that the Gamecocks landed Mr. Football.
Joyner produced almost 3,500 yards of total offense and scored 52 total touchdowns this season. He also won a state title for Fort Dorchester as sophomore.
Other South Carolina Mr. Football players who played for the Gamecocks include legends like Jadeveon Clowney, Marcus Lattimore and Stephon Gilmore.
Joyner will enroll at USC in January.
