USC Baseball Wins First Series In Kingston Era

USC and VMI met for their series finale this afternoon at Founders Park. Mark Kingston and the Gamecocks in position for their first series win of 2018.

AC Flora product Madison Stokes continues his great play this weekend. He hits one to right field and it's good for a bloop double and that brings home TJ Hopkins and it's 2-0 Gamecocks. Noah Campbell scored the first run of the game for USC after a wild pitch.

VMI's Nathan Eaton makes contact and he thinks he has enough for a base hit but Jonah Bride comes in and scoops up the ball with his bare right hand and throws Eaton out at first. Play of the game defensively from Bride as USC protects their 4-0 lead.

Chris Cullen and Justin Row both homered down the stretch to increase USC's advantage.

Ridge Chapman was the man on the mound. In his first career start he allowed one hit and threw 6Ks to lead USC to a 9-0 shutout victory.

The Gamecocks win the series 2-1 and Kingston gets his first series under his belt at USC.
