USC Sweeps Mizzou In Softball

COLUMBIA, SC — It was nice day and a nice crowd for softball at Beckham field and it was perfect conditions for USC 6-2 win over Mizzou in their series finale on Sunday.

Cayla Drotar back in the circle for USC after taking a shot to the knee in the opener. She was back to normal self and tossed a strikeout to end the first inning.

Alyssa Kumiyama puts USC in the scoring column first. She gets a deep shot to left field to bring home Jordyn Augustus on a sacrifice fly so it's 1-0 USC in the second.

Still in the second and Kenzi Maguire gets a base knock and that is good enough to score two teammates. Kennedy Clark and Krystan White score to increase USC's lead to 3-0.

Then Alyssa VanDerVeer leaves no doubt on this swing. She launches a long ball to left and it's out of here. Her 10th homer of the season gave the Gamecocks a 4-0 lead and that was enough.
