Columbia, SC (WLTX) - The South Carolina Gamecocks' home opener football game against Kentucky will be all blacked out, but it's got nothing to do with an eclipse.
The school announced Friday their game against Kentucky will be a "blackout" game, meaning all fans are encouraged to wear all black.
"Coach Muschamp wanted to do something special for the home opener," said Eric Nichols, Senior Associate AD for Marketing & Branding. "We will have several types of black shirts available at our retail outlets that can be worn for the game and throughout the season."
The game is September 16 at 7:30 p.m. over at Williams-Brice Stadium. The game will be televised on the SEC Network.
