For the first time ever South Carolina has a finalist for the MAC Hermann Trophy. Senior forward Savannah McCaskill of the women's soccer team is one of three finalist for the award which goes to the top player in college soccer.
The Chapin native certainly deserves it. She is a three-time All-American, the first Gamecock do that and she led USC in points as they made it to their first Final Four this season.
The Irmo product also won back to SEC Offensive Player of they year awards and has the single season scoring record for USC and the most game winning goals.
McCaskill will head to St. Louis for the Mac Hermann Trophy Banquet on January 5th when the winner will be revealed.
