USC soccer stars Savannah McCaskill and Kaleigh Kurtz are semifinalists for the Missouri Athletic Club's Hermann Trophy. This award goes to the the best player in women's college soccer.

McCaskill, a junior, set the USC record for goals (17) and points (45) this year. The Irmo product was also the SEC offensive player of the year.

Kurtz was named the SEC Defensive Player of the year in her senior campaign. She also had a career high in points (7) and led all USC defenders with 5 assists. Kurtz was part of a defensive unit that allowed just 0.41 goals per game.

Former Gamecock Sabrina D'Angelo is the only other USC player to be a semifinalist for this award and that was in 2014.

Three finalist will be announced on Dec 14. The awards banquet will held in St. Louis on Jan.6
