Columbia, SC (WLTX) - Sindarius Thornwell has his next assignment.

The SEC Player of the Year was taken by the Milwaukee Bucks in the second round of the 2017 NBA Draft with the 48th overall pick. However, moments later, the pick was purchased by the L.A. Clippers.

Thornwell will now be a part of a talented team that's led by Coach Doc Rivers and includes stars Chris Paul and Blake Griffin.

The Lancaster native who came to USC from Oak Hill Academy helped USC earn its first trip ever to the Final Four. His senior season saw him lead USC with 21.4 points per game and 7.1 rebounds per game.

Thornwell was named him to the Preseason All-SEC team after being left off the media's ballot. At the end of the regular season, he was became the first player from the USC men's basketball program to be named SEC Player of the Year. He was also named to the league's All-Defensive Team.
