USC head football coach Will Muschamp is headed towards a bump in pay and a contract extention.

Muschamp is in the second year of his five-year contract which he signed upon taking over the Gamecock program in December of 2015. His current contract started him at $3 million per year with an increase of $100,000 each year, so this season he will make $3.1 million.

In his first season at USC, he doubled the win total from the previous year and finished 6-7. He is currently sitting at 7-3 with games against Wofford and Clemson left in the regular season and a bowl game coming.

It's expected the new contract will be finalized before the end of the year.
