The city of Tampa has already begun rolling out the red carpet for the Gamecocks and Wolverines.
On Thursday, Raymond James Stadium was the scene for a contract signing party featuring the two head coaches who will square off in the Outback Bowl.
Both teams come in with 8-4 records. For USC's Will Muschamp, a win would mean a second straight year of recording a three-win improvement from the previous season.
"We took over a program that had won three games the year before," Muschamp said.
"We won six games last year and now eight this year and an opportunity to win nine for just the seventh time in school history. And that says a lot about this football team and the accomplishments we've had in a very short amount of time as a staff. I like where we are but i really like where we're headed. 70 percent of our roster is freshmen and sophomores. For our fan base which travels extremely well, it's the most loyal fan base in the country, to come to Tampa and enjoy this with our football team is special to me."
