USC linebacker Skai Moore has been named to the Bronko Nagurski Watch List - one of 103 candidates up for the award which goes to college football's best defensive player and is presented by the Charlotte Touchdown Club.
Moore, a 6-2, 218 pound senior, will return to the field after sitting out the 2016 season with a neck injury. He has a chance to become the first Gamecock to lead the team in tackles for four straight seasons.
Moore was a second-team All-SEC selection in 2015 by both the AP and the league’s coaches. Moore has 260 career tackles and needs 47 to move into the school’s all-time top-10 list. He also has 11 career interceptions, tying for third on USC's all-time list and just three shy of Bo Davies’ school record of 14.
He has been receiving plenty of preseason attention as he is also on the watch list for the Bednarik Award.
