AUGUSTA, GA — Wesley Bryan represented the Gamecocks in two rounds at the Masters but a couple of Clemson Tigers are carrying their banner at Augusta.

The elder former Tiger in Kyle Stanley and young cub Doc Redman made their presence felt at Augusta National.

Stanley has been a pro since 2009 and has improved from his first Masters appearance in 2012. He made the cut today to advance to round three finishing +2 on Friday. He only made it through two rounds in first time at Augusta. Stanley's best finish at major was top 40 in the 2012 Open Championship but knows where he needs to improve his game if he wants to contend for the green jacket.

"I'd like to advantage of the par fives a little bit more and really just make some putts. Outside of five or six feet I really haven't made much so ball striking I've been pretty happy with. I think I've been driving the ball ok just have to get some more putts to go in," Stanley said. "Not too disappointed just got to be patient out there. I mean you're going to make a couple of high numbers out here this week and I think everybody king of excepts that but it was good getting on three on 18 and getting the spirits up for tomorrow.

The other Tiger on the course is Doc Redman. The Clemson sophomore didn't make the cut as he finished 9 over in his first Masters appearance as an amateur but he proved to himself that he can play with some of the best in the world.

"You know I hung in there on the front nine both days really but I just caught up on the back nine on some tough holes and I didn't quite drive it well enough," Redman said. S"o I got to go back and just be a little more consistent. So that's what I really got to focus on just get a little bit better and I know I can hang out here."

Stanley will try to keep the Clemson name alive as he enters weekend competition at Augusta. Patrick Reed is the current leader at 9 under.
