Columbia, SC (WLTX) - The Midlands saw some high winds but no real damage as a line of storms moved through the area Friday afternoon.

The system began moving into the area around 3 p.m.

There had been some concern that the system would cause severe thunderstorms. The National Weather Service issued warnings for several counties, but those were eventually allowed to expire.

None of those storms contained much in the way of lightning.

The rain will subside in the evening. Overnight, it will be cool with lows in the upper 40s. But Friday will be clear with highs in the upper 60s.
