PIEDMONT TRIAD, N.C. -- Hurricane Matthew slowed down to a Category 1 storm early Saturday morning but the storm left its mark all across North Carolina.

In the Triad, 911 emergency operators in Alamance, Guilford, Randolph, Forsyth and Davidson Counties all reported multiple downed trees and power lines throughout the afternoon.

Many parts of Fayetteville was flooded prompting rescues by police officers who used Facebook to urge people to stay off the roads.

A large oak tree fell onto a home in Burlington, displacing a family of three. Our Lauren Fabrizi reports that luckily, no one was hurt.

Lauren spoke to a neighbor who said she heard cracking and then all of a sudden a large crash.

Frank Callicutt shared this video with us of a tree that fell on a home in Lexington.
