Jerome Collins
REPORTER

Jerome Collins joined News19 in October 2007, as the station's “On Your Side” reporter. As part of his job, Jerome looks into stories that viewers tell him about, helping them solve problems and get answers.

Jerome comes to WLTX from WDAM in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. That's where he began his television career in 2005, just a month before Hurricane Katrina devastated the area. It was Jerome’s wish to cover a hurricane during his career, but little did he know his wish would come true during his first month in the business. In the storm’s aftermath, Jerome began investigating unscrupulous contractors who flooded the state. In 2006, one of those stories gained him a first place award for Best Investigative Reporting by the Mississippi Associated Press Broadcasters Association.

Jerome is a native of the Garden State of New Jersey. He graduated from Kean University with a degree in communications. While at Kean, Jerome was editor-in-chief for the college newspaper, "The Tower," and he was inducted into the University’s chapter of the National Communication Association. When he's not working, Jerome enjoys spending his spare time with family and friends, traveling and rooting for the New York Mets.
