Lee's Review: "Star Wars: The Last Jedi"

"Let the past die.  Kill it, if you have to.  That's the only way to become what you are meant to be."                                                                                                                                                   Kylo Ren

After a slight detour through "Rogue One," our plot is, once again, focusing on the future. And there is hope! WLTX

(WLTX) - In the entire galaxy, are we really down to the last Jedi?  There is another.  But we all knew that, right?

In fact, she went all the way to the Highlands of Middle Earth to track down Luke Skywalker for proper training.  However, he's got reservations about keeping the order alive.  He tried before and things didn't go so well.

In the meantime, the Resistance is having problems of their own.  The First Order now has the ability to track them through light speed!  The only way to shake them is to recruit a codebreaker from the interplanetary equivalent of Las Vegas.

So, we have heavy drama within one storyline, while action carries the other.  Sounds like the structure to "The Empire Strikes Back," doesn't it?  Well, if you're going to steal a formula, you may as well steal from the best!

And they appear to have done a decent job of it.  We learn more about our characters' past, while questions still linger for Episode IX.  Lives are lost, while new personalities emerge...and humor is peppered throughout all the cosmic warfare!

But not everything's the same.  For instance, this time, there are women - LOTS of them!  How can the Leemoji not smile about that?

Some are calling it the 3rd best film in the franchise...and they may be right.  It will take a little time before I can settle on a pecking order.  Either way, it's worth seeing.  So do (or do not).  There is no try.
