Columbia Woman Quits Job to Follow Her Passion

James quit her job in the mortgage industry to open her store "Reinvintage," in Columbia's Five Points.

(WLTX) - The saying goes, “don’t quit your day job,” but that is exactly what small business owner Treva James did.

James quit her job in the mortgage industry to open her store “Reinvintage,” in Columbia’s Five Points.

James takes antique furniture and vintage items and turns them into unique pieces of art.  Old egg baskets, wooden pallets, and a discarded poster bed--James finds her inspiration in very unique places.

“Sometimes I have no idea what I’m going to do with a piece, but it speaks to me.  I hate to see beautiful old furniture thrown away when it can still have so much life.  It just needs a little facelift and some sanding and paint.”
