Woman takes epic photo after deer waltz into Colo. store

KUSA - A tiny town in Colorado had some unexpected visitors after a family of deer decided to get some holiday shopping done.

Lori Jones, who works at Horsetooth Inn and RV Park located in Stout, Colorado (which has a population of 47 1/2 ... no joke), snapped a series of photos of the mama deer after she walked right into the store and did some browsing.

The little store is at the southern tip of Horsetooth Reservoir, which is west of Fort Collins and about an hour and a half from Denver.

Jones snapped photos of mama checking out sunglasses ...

and checking out some junk food.

“I lured her outside with a peanut bar,” Jones wrote in an email to 9NEWS.

But that wasn't the end of the visit. Jones would see that deer again, very soon … and there would even be a surprise. Here’s what happened next in her own words.

“Later, I was in the office checking the store stock,” she wrote. “I walked out and there she was with her twins and a lone buck that she nursed. I just used my phone to snap the pics. I laughed so hard!”

Her photos capture the moment perfectly. You can see a curious mama deer – and her babies behind her, peering into the store to see what’s going on.

It's certainly a visit neither the deer nor Jones will ever forget.
