   Important Information for Restaurant Owners

News 19 receives health inspection reports from the Department of Health and Environmental Control. We depend on DHEC to keep us updated with the most current inspection scores, but sometimes the latest reports are not available. If you would like us to report an updated score for your restaurant, fax a copy of your DHEC inspection report to our newsroom at 776-1791. News 19 will update the grade on our Restaurant Report Card as soon as possible.

About the News 19 Restaurant Report Card
There are over 15-thousand restaurants in South Carolina, and every day state health inspectors are out grading them to make sure they're safe for you and your family to eat in.

You see the letter grades on the restaurant windows, but what does it mean? Every Thursday on News 19 at six and eleven, we'll tell you in the On Your Side Restaurant Report Card.

Every week, News19 gets the weekly restaurant inspection reports from the Department of Health and Environmental Control. We look through every inspection to let you know who's not making the grade.

Health inspectors say every restaurant should have an "A" on the window, but that's not always the case. Some restaurants end up with "B's" and "C's," while others even fail.

Knowing the grade can tell you a lot about a restaurant. Before you go out to eat, take a look at what's on the menu in our Restaurant Report Card. See it every Thursday at six and eleven only on News19.
