Kids Bowl Free Program Available This Summer

Columbia, SC (WLTX) -- Two area bowling centers are participating in this year's Kids Bowl Free program for the summer.

The 7-year program offers kids around the country to bowl two free games, every day, for the entire summer. It's a great way to get the kids up off the couch during their summer break, leaving behind the tv and video games, trading them for a fun activity with family and friends every day at one of over 1200 bowling centers around the country.

The two bowling centers participating in the Midlands both have a maximum age limit of 15-years or younger, with specific times available to take advantage of the free bowling program. Nationwide, more than 2.1 million kids benefited from this free program during the summer of 2013.

Rental shoes are required at both area locations, and standard shoe rental fees do apply for every bowling outing.

The Kids Bowl Free program is available at these Midlands bowling centers:

Royal Z Lanes in Columbia/Richland County
Anchor Lanes in Irmo/Lexington County

Parents need to register online at to receive vouchers every week for the summer. When parents register, they'll be asked to set up their account, then list the names and ages of each of their children (limit six.)

Those new vouchers, emailed every Sunday to the parents, are required each week for the children to bowl two games free.

For families outside of the Midlands counties WLTX serves, there are participating bowling centers in other areas of South Carolina. For that information, visit theKidsBowlFree web page for our state, here: (
