Columbia, SC (AP) -- October is breast cancer awareness month, and Columbia Mayor Steve Benjamin is holding an event to benefit people suffering from the disease.

Benjamin on Friday is hosting the 11th Annual Mayor's Campaign Against Breast Cancer/Isabel Law Breakfast at City Hall.

The first 400 people who buy a ticket get a pink water bottle. All proceeds go to Bosom Buddies, a 501(c)3 charity that helps women who need mastectomy camisoles or have other needs after surgery.

The fundraiser is named in memory of Isabel Law, a founding member of the Mayor's Campaign Against Breast Cancer Committee and 26-year breast cancer survivor.
