Columbia, SC (WLTX) -- October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and throughout the month News19 will showcase women who are surviving and enabling others with the desire to fight the disease.
Ta-tinis is a group of five ladies who were all diagnosed with breast cancer within 20 months of each other. They ranged in age from 26-34 when diagnosed.
When they realized there was not a survivor's support group for young women in their 20s and 30s, they knew they needed to step up and make it happen. So while enjoying a night together at Travinia's Italian restaurant in Lexington, the ladies created Ta-tinis.
Mandy Bowden, Kim Hamrick, Amy Kinard, Brittany Barfield, and Jessica McCain are the founders but they're always looking for more young ladies to join the group.
If you are a young woman recently diagnosed with breast cancer or a survivor you can find more information about Ta-tinis on Facebook or Twitter.
They also have T-shirts available for sale on Ebay with the proceeds going to support breast cancer research.
