Manning, SC (WLTX)- Two elderly dogs are looking for a place to call home after they were returned to Clarendon County years after being adopted out of the area’s only non-kill animal shelter. Now, News 19 is on a mission to make that happen as we continue our summer tour of Random Acts of Kindness.
Maddie, a 9-year-old Field Spaniel mix, was adopted out in 2009 but found in Chesterfield County this year. She has a microchip but the owner’s didn’t update their information so the animal shelter has been unable to contact them.
Jimmy, a 7 or 8-year-old German Shepard mix, was also adopted out in 2009 but the owner recently moved into a nursing home and had to return his furry friend.
News 19’s sponsorship covers the $125 adoption fee, which includes all vaccinations, spaying or neutering, and heartworm testing.
Families adopting bigger dogs are required to have a fenced yard. More than 50 cats and dogs are available for adoption at the shelter. For more information, visit the second chance animal shelter's website.
