Orangeburg County deputies say they're aware of threats against two schools in the county, and they're investigating the claims.

Deputies said Tuesday the threats were made against Orangeburg-Wilkinson High School and Lake Marion High School.

Deputies say they're working with the school district as well as the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division in tracking down the perpetrator or perpetrators in these threats.

"We want to community to know we are taking this serious and will ensure the perpetrators sees justice in court," the agency wrote on Facebook.

Since last Wednesday's school massacre in Parkland, Florida, there have been multiple threats made to schools in the Midlands. None of the them, however, turned out to be serious security threats, although some students were charged in connection with the incidents.
