COLUMBIA, SC — The USC women's golf team is enjoying the moment. Today they advanced to the SEC Finals. Led by SEC medalist Ainhoa Olarra the Gamecocks were victorious against Georgia defeating the Bulldogs 3-1 in the semifinals. Carolina also swept Missouri 3-0 in the quarterfinals.

USC, the number one overall seed in match play, will take on number three Arkansas for the title on Sunday in Birmingham at the Greystone Golf And Country Club.

The final match play starts at 8 am tomorrow on the SEC Network.

In case you missed it the women's golf team has another conference champion. Ainhora Olarra won the SEC women's golf championship on Friday in Birmingham at the Greystone Legacy Clubhouse.

Olarra was clutch too. She birdied on the 18th hole to force a playoff and finished seven under to edge Maria Fassi of Arkansas.

The senior from Spain is the third player in program history to win the SEC title. Katelyn Dambaugh won for USC last year.

"I'm really happy. I feel it was just a great day. It's been a hard day honestly because Maria Fassi made everything harder for me. The match play was good. I was able to make par and birdie and just be a winner," Olarra said. "But I'm really excited about what's coming now this weekend to want be a champion but also with the team."

Carolina becomes the third school to have two back-back SEC medalist as well.
