New Ben Lippen Football Coach Is On Board

Ben Lippen will have a new football coach this fall in former Westwood assistant James Reynolds.

Two days and two trips to the Ben Lippen campus.

That has been the schedule for new head football coach James Reynolds who met his new team on Tuesday and then had meetings with teachers and administrators on Wednesday.

Reynolds is no stranger to the Ben Lippen campus as he was a former assistant under Reggie Shaw who is now the head coach at Byrnes High School in the Upstate. Reynolds has also had coaching stops at A.C. Flora, River Bluff and for the past two seasons Westwood. He credits the head coaches at all of those schools for helping to prepare him for what is his second head coaching job, but first in the Palmetto State.

Reynolds was hired as a 25-year-old head coach in Mississippi a few years back and even he admits he had no business getting that job, but it did allow him to learn on the fly and that experience, combined with his years as an assistant, has him ready to lead the Falcons.
