Money Available for Some Affordable Care Act Signees

Columbia, SC (WLTX) - If you signed up for insurance under the Affordable Care Act, you could be eligible for some help paying your premiums.

The Cooperative Ministry is offering the insurance premium assistance program. An anonymous donor has made the program possible for one year.

To qualify, you must have signed up for the silver plan and live in Richland, Lexington or Fairfield County. You must have also received a tax credit and made your first payment.

It doesn't matter how you signed up or where you may have received help with enrollment. If you meet all the requirements, you could receive $599 or up to four people covered in your household.

"That's a whole lot of money that's just laying around ,and so we have no way to get the word out because we kept no record by federal law for the people that we enrolled," said Doris Jones with the Cooperative Ministry. "So now we really need to get the word out to them that hey, there's more help for you."

If you think you or someone you know may qualify for that money, call the Cooperative Ministry at 803-799-3853 extension 602.
