P.F. Chang's Reports Locations Affected By Data Breach

Scottsdale, AZ (WLTX) -- The Chinese restaurant chain P.F. Chang's China Bistro was alerted in June to a possible security breach involving credit and debit card data at some locations.

In a statement by P.F. Chang's CEO Rick Federico, it's noted that on June 10th, the company was alerted by U.S. Secret Service that the restaurant chain may have been compromised involving credit and debit card data, stolen reportedly from 33 P.F. Chang's restaurants around the country.

The security breach of their card processing systems occurred between October 19th of 2013, and June 11th of 2014, one day after the Secret Service made the company aware of the breach.

Federico went on to say the company initiated an internal investigation, to assess the breadth of the security breach, involving their card processing systems, and they have reason to believe the intruder may have stolen credit and debit card numbers, names, and expiration dates of some customer's cards.

The internal investigation, conducted by both P.F. Chang's staff and forensic data experts from a third party contracted for the investigation, determined the 33 locations, and specific date time frames the card processing system was compromised for each. Federico reported that they are continuing the investigation.
