Argument leads to one juvenile shot at Carowinds

Argument Leaves One Shot at Carowinds

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A shooting outside Carowinds amusement park has lead to a boy hospitalized at CMC.

Deputies believe the shooting started as an argument inside the park.

It was around closing time when police got the call. They found the victim at the pickup/drop off location, which Carowinds describes as outside of the park. They are now working with detectives.

Carowinds issued this statement following the incident:

MEDIC confirmed that the victim they transported to the hospital suffered from life-threatening injuries.

Deputies say they are interviewing witnesses and have a vague suspect car description which they believe to be a light blue Dodge Charger or Magnum.

"There was a light skinned male that was driving who we believe is the suspect at this time," said York County P.I.O. Trent Faris.
