Cemetery Vandalism Suspect in Columbia Identified

Columbia, SC (WLTX)- Columbia Police have made an arrest in the vandalism of dozens of grave sites at Greenlawn Memorial Cemetery late Saturday night or early Sunday morning.

Justin Scott Beach, 24, is charged with vandalizing graves and burial grounds according to Columbia Police.



Family members visiting their loved ones were greeted by broken vases and ripped flowers thrown across graves sites.

The damage caused is estimated at nearly $15,000.

Beach is being held at Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.

The cemetery plans to hold a cookout for the families on Saturday, July 8th, to replace the flowers that were vandalized.
