Arrest made in connection with disappearance of NC toddler

The number of people that showed was so great that the Onslow County Sheriff's Office ran out of room for volunteers.

ONSLOW COUNTY, N.C. -- An arrest has been made in the disappearance of a three-year-old girl in North Carolina.

The Onslow County Sheriff’s Office and the FBI took 32-year-old Earl Kimrey into custody on Friday. He's believed to be the live-in boyfriend of Mariah Woods' mother, and one of the last people to have seen the little girl who was reported missing Monday.

Investigators said evidence gathered during the course of the investigation indicates Mariah is deceased. The search has shifted to a recovery process.

Kimrey is charged with Concealing of Death, Obstruction of Justice, 2nd Degree Burglary, Felony Larceny and Possession of Stolen Property. He's being held in the Onslow County Detention Center under a $1,010,000 bond.

The district attorney said additional charges could be pending.
