Columbia, SC (WLTX) - People who want to find the most up-to-date information from the State Farmers Market now have a new tool.
When people sign up for the Harvest Society, they can be the first to know when crops of interest to them arrive at the new market on Highway 321 in Lexington County.
According to information provided by the society, members will get a text when shrimp arrives from the coast or when South Carolina tomatoes are available.
"The Harvest Society will help us engage our customers in the weekly activities of the Farmers Market," said Jessica Wyndham, Director of Marketing. "We're building a relationship between our vendors and our customers that will benefit both. Our customers will be able to act quickly to get the produce they want most, while vendors will begin building a rapport with the customers most interested in their products."
The texting begins in April, but people can sign up now.
To sign up for the Harvest Society text HARVEST to 313131 or visit www.HarvestSociety.com to provide your cell phone number.
The South Carolina State Farmers Market will kick off the Spring season and begin the Harvest Society reports at the Plant and Flower Show on April 14 to 17. For more information about the market, visit www.scstatefarmersmarket.com or email info@scstatefarmersmarket.com.
