Police Check Points Ticket Offenders

Columbia, SC (WLTX) - You might have noticed an increase of police this St. Patrick Day's weekend. 

Local Law enforcement from several agencies have joined together to set up several safety checkpoints in the Midlands.

Over 50 traffic violatiors were ticketed between the 1am-3am, of which 12 people were cited for DUI and one person cited for possision of marijuana. 

The checkpoints were expected to continue all weekend.
