Columbia, SC (WLTX) - Columbia police say a 17-year-old female was killed and a man was injured in a shooting Tuesday morning.
The shooting took place on House Street around 10 a.m. House Street is located just off Millwood Avenue.
Officers say when they arrived at the home, they found a male and female victim who'd been shot. The female, identified as 17-year-old Santerrica Johnson, was taken to the hospital where she later died. The man had a non life-threatening wound.
Johnson was a student at Dreher High School. We're told the other victim was under the age of 18.
Investigators say a witness gave a description of the suspect and the vehicle he was driving. He was found on Taylor Street and was taken into custody.
Police believe the victims and the suspect were acquaintance.
The name of the suspect has not yet been released.
The investigation into the incident continues.
