Columbia, SC (WLTX) - Blythewood High School's Grayson Greiner has the perfect body for a catcher.
"He's 6'5," 215 pounds," says head coach Barry Mizzell. And it's a position he loves.
"You're basically the quarterback out there," said Greiner. "You help control the game." The senior helps control games--he's already smacked 10 home runs this year. He's not doing it to impress college scouts however. He's already signed to play for USC.
"I can't wait to play for Coach Tanner," said Greiner. "Best coach in the country."
Greiner doesn't only excel on the baseball field; he catches high grades in the classroom too with a 4.3 GPA. "My parents instilled academics in me at a young age. They said you can go real far with a good education," Greiner said.
He's a great ballplayer, smart and volunteers at Coach Mizzell's summer camps. Greyson Greiner is also News 19's Player of the Week.
