Sumter, SC (WLTX) - USC Head Coach Steve Spurrier said Tuesday that quarterback Stephen Garcia has a good chance to be back--if he does all that's required.

Spurrier made an appearance at the Gamecock Fan Fest Tour at USC Sumter.

The head ball coach signed autographs and took photos with fans.

When asked about Garcia, Spurrier said, "Stephen's got a chance of being back. He's got some things he's gotta do this summer. If he does those things I think he'll probably be back."

Garcia has been suspended since early April after a violation of team rules.

He also addressed increased expectations for the upcoming year.

"We've got a ways to go, but we've got a a lot of good players," he said. "So we've got hope that something bigger can happen this year."

Spurrier said he enjoyed coming to the fan fest, because it gave him to reach out to fans who don't live in Columbia.

"So when they come to the ballpark they can say I saw the head coach down there last summer in our hometown."
