Omaha, NE (WLTX) - USC first baseman Christian Walker could miss game one of the championship series in Omaha Monday due to an injury, Coach Ray Tanner said Sunday.

Tanner said Walker injured his wrist during an at-bat in Friday night's game against Virginia. Walker apparently attempted batting practice at Sunday's drills, but had to quit because of the pain.

Tanner said he is not ruling Walker out, but said that he's having to look at the possibility that he won't be ready.

If Walker couldn't go, Robert Beary, Brady Thomas, or even pitcher Michael Roth could be substituted in.

Tanner also said reliever Matt Price will not pitch Monday, even though Price said he's feels he could give the Gamecocks one inning. Price threw 5 1/2 innings Friday, far more than he would normally deliver.

USC takes on Florida at 8 p.m. Monday at TD Ameritrade Park in Omaha.
