Columbia, SC (WLTX) -- The three northbound lanes of Interstate 77 near Bluff Road have been re-opened after a tractor trailer overturned Wednesday morning.
Official had closed them down earlier in the morning to deal with the cleanup efforts.
At 12:40 p.m., traffic moved freely through the area, where glass had shattered across the roadway after a tractor trailer overturned at about 8:10 a.m. near exit 5 on the interstate.
Troopers with the South Carolina Highway Patrol had to set up a detour in the area throughout the morning to clear traffic congestion.
According to officials, the tractor trailer was travelling around a curve in the highway, and the driver lost control of the vehicle. That's when troopers say the truck's load shifted, and the truck toppled over, spilling glass into all three northbound lanes of the highway. No other vehicles were involved.
Driver Howard Thomas Bradley, 52, of Gaston will be ticketed for driving too fast for conditions, troopers say. He was not taken to the hospital.
