Columbia, SC (WLTX) --- USC head football coach Steve Spurrier has said he doesn't worry about publicity affecting the work ethic of running back Marcus Lattimore, who has set a standard for dedication in the off-season workouts.
However, Spurrier says he has told Lattimore to back off on any talk about winning the Heisman.
After a freshman season that saw him earn All-American honors, Lattimore has been asked numerous times about winning college football's highest individual award. Spurrier says he simply told Lattimore to not be quite so public about it and let his play do the talking.
Spurrier also announced that Friday morning's 8:30 practice will be the last workout that is open to the public at this time. That means Saturday afternoon's scrimmage will be closed.
