Columbia, SC (WLTX) - A spokesperson for Rep. Joe Wilson says the lawmaker was admitted into a hospital for an extended fever.
Wilson, a Lexington Republican, represents the Second Congressional District, which extends from Columbia to Hilton Head.
Just last week it became public that Wilson was recovering from what appears to be Lyme Disease. Fever is one of the symptoms often seen with the illness.
His aides say Congressman Wilson likely got the illness while working in his yard. He had to postpone a tour of his district because of the sickness.
It is still unclear if Wilson is still in the hospital or has been released.
