Motorcyclist Killed in Accident Identified

Lexington County, SC (WLTX) -- The Lexington County coroner has identified the 37-year-old Lexington man who was killed in a Thursday night accident on US 1.

According to Coroner Harry Harman, David O. Perry was killed in the 8:40 p.m. collision in the 4400 block of Augusta Road, known also as US 1. Previous Coverage: Troopers: Motorcyclist Dies After Collision

South Carolina Highway Patrol troopers Perry was driving a 2007 Kawasaki motorcycle north when that vehicle collided with a 2007 Chevy SUV driven by a 52-year-old Lexington man that was headed south. Investigators say the SUV was attempting to make a left turn when the two vehicles collided.

Perry was taken to the emergency room at Palmetto Health Richland, where he was pronounced dead. Investigators say Perry was wearing a helmet during the collision.

The driver of the SUV was wearing a seat belt and was not injured, according to troopers. The Highway Patrol says the accident remains under investigation.
