Columbia, SC (WLTX) -- The University of South Carolina Athletics Director Eric Hyman said in a prepared statement that he is not considering a move to North Carolina.

In the Wednesday evening statement, Hyman said:
"I am honored to be considered by my alma mater, North Carolina, but my work here has not been finished and I love being a Gamecock."
On Tuesday, WRAL-TV, a CBS TV station in Raleigh, NC, reported that Hyman had been considered for the top spot in Chapel Hill.
Hyman has an obvious connection to the Tar Heels, having graduated from there and played football.
He received a $75,000 a year raise over the summer. His current contract lasts until 2015. Hyman has been at Carolina since 2005. He previously had been athletics director at Texas Christian.
In that time, he's been credited with finding new sources of revenue for the program and spearheading construction of new state-of-the-art facilities.
