Chester County, SC (WLTX) - A man has been arrested in connection with a fatal hit and run on Interstate 77.
State troopers say Earl M. Burr, 34, of Gastonia, North Carolina is now charged with felony DUI involving death and leaving the scene involving a death.
Investigators say just before 4 p.m., two cars--a green Ford Explorer driven by Burr and a Honda--collided at the 51 mile marker of I-77 in the southbound lanes.
The collision caused the Honda to run off the right side of the road, where it struck a tree. One person inside the Honda died, while the other person taken to Palmetto Richland for her injuries.
The Explorer lost control momentarily and spun through the highway median before continuing to travel southbound.
Burr was located later driving along I-77 near Highway 34.
