SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) -- A Spartanburg murder suspect's mother has been charged with assault.
Sheriff's Lt. Tony Ivey says 48-year-old Timmia Holcomb of Spartanburg was charged with third-degree assault and battery Tuesday after a confrontation at the plant where she worked.
An incident report states a plant supervisor told a deputy that an employee told him Holcomb had punched the other worker several times and pushed her over a barrier.
The woman told the deputy that Holcomb had been upset at work because people were talking her son, Tyree Holcomb.
Tyree Holcomb is wanted on charges of murder, attempted murder and burglary.
Deputies say one teen was killed and two others wounded in a shooting last month.
It was not clear if Timmia Holcomb has a lawyer.
