Clarendon County, SC (WLTX) -- Clarendon County Sheriff Randy Garrett said three deputies have left his department to take higher paying jobs elsewhere, but he's already replaced them.

Sheriff Garrett said each of the deputies put in their two-weeks notices in the middle of December. Two of the employees will spend their last day with the department on Friday, Garrett said.

The former employees accepted new jobs at the City of Manning, Town of Turbeville and a used car business in Turbeville, respectively.

Garrett said each of the former employees' new jobs pay more than what they were earning with the sheriff's office.

The sheriff says citizens should not be upset due to the turnover. Each of the vacancies have since been filled, and he expects no interruption in service.
