Lexington, SC (WLTX) -- The Lexington Police Department shut down Sunset Boulevard for several hours at Old Cherokee Road due to a multi car crash on Sunday morning.
At approximately 10:40 Sunday morning, a three car fatal crash took the life of 6-year-old Emma Longstreet of Lexington. The victim was a restrained passenger in a car turning onto Sunset Blvd. from Old Cherokee Road. The car the victim was traveling in was struck in the side by a vehicle traveling west on Sunset Blvd. The driver that fatally struck the car was 26-year-old Billy Hutto Jr., 26, of Gilbert. This initial collision caused a third car to be struck as well.
Billy Hutto has been arrested for Felony Driving Under the Influence Causing Death and Felony Driving Under the Influence Causing Great Bodily Injury for injuries sustained by an additional victim. Hutto is being held at the Lexington County Detention Center and scheduled to appear in bond court Monday morning at 10:00am.
