Columbia, SC (WLTX) - It's a new year which means another New Year's resolution to lose weight. But when it comes to weight loss, what are you really losing? Is it water, muscle, or fat? The key is to lose fat.
Jimmy Leach, "The Fat Burning Coach" says just because you see the numbers go down on the scale, that doesn't mean your fitness plan is a success, and if you see the numbers go up or remain the same, that doesn't mean it's a failure either.
For example, if you weigh 150 pounds and lost two pounds of fat but gained two pounds of muscle, your weight will be the same on a scale. So in turn you may feel like what you're doing isn't working.
On the contrary, if you lose two pounds and gained no muscle, the scale will say 148 pounds. You may think that's success but in reality, most likely you have only lost water and what you want to lose is fat.
Watch the video and hear "The Fat Burning Coach" go into details on why most New Year's weight loss resolutions fail and he tells you how you can win the weight lose battle with the right trainer and proper nutrition.
Jimmy Leach is having a Nutritional Seminar on Saturday, January 14 at 10 a.m. at New Body located at 9300 Two Notch Road Suite C-2 in Columbia. The cost is $5. For more information you can call the gym at 803-788-6900.
