(Orangeburg, SC) -- Orangeburg County Authorities are investigating a murder suicide in Eutawville.
Orangeburg County Sheriff Ravenell explains the shootings happened 10 minutes apart the evening of February 25th. Shortly after 6PM officers were called to Strick's One Stop on Old Number Six Highway, after a store employee heard a single gunshot. The employee saw a 42-year-old Eutawville woman falling to the ground, and a pickup truck quickly leaving the scene.
Less than a mile and a half away, officers were dispatched to Oilers Drive just a few minutes later to respond to a suicide.
Authorities say the 43-year-old suspect in the Strick's convenience store fatal shooting, arrived at his home which was next door to his mother's house. Sheriff Ravenell says he went inside his mother's house and kissed her before returning to his residence and shooting himself in his doorway.
Autopsy results have not been released yet.
